James Caan Cause Of Death
James Caan died on October 22, 2008 at the age of 50 years old.
Caan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in May of 2007. AML is a
type of cancer that affects white blood cells that are responsible for fighting
infection.
The cause of death was listed as acute alcohol intoxication,
according to TMZ reports. His body reportedly showed no sign of any kind of
trauma.
Caan died at his home in Beverly Hills, California, on April
26th. He had been in a coma since March 25th after suffering complications
following emergency surgery for diverticulitis. He was 67 years old.
This isn't the first time he's suffered from ill-health. On
January 8th, 2013, he underwent heart surgery to correct a condition called
mitral valve prolapsed. The medical procedure was performed at Cedars Sinai
Hospital.
He began his career in acting in 1971, when he starred in the
movie All the President's Men. But he went into a long hiatus before making a
comeback in 1993 with the TV show Moonlighting.
His film credits include Maverick (1994), Heat (1995) and The
Negotiator (1998). In addition to his acting work, James Caan wrote two books:
Confessions of A Dangerous Mind (2011) and The Heart Is A Muscle (2012).

stage the number of white blood cells increases and then decreases again in
stage At any time during these stages, patients may have no symptoms or mild
symptoms including fatigue, fever, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Symptoms often worsen over time, especially after chemotherapy. In stage leukemia
progresses rapidly and people who receive treatment die within months.
Causation of death. On
August 16, 2009, Dr. Robert A. Pinsky, Director of the Office of the Chief
Medical Examiner-Coroner Division, issued a report stating that the cause of
death for Mr. Caan was “acute myelogenous leukemia”. He added, “It should be
noted that there were no findings that could explain the suddenness of his
death.”
Treatment. In July of 2007, Mr. Caan began receiving treatment
for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. He received chemotherapy treatments at Cedars
Sinai Hospital. His family reported that he had been doing well until
approximately two weeks before his death. He complained of feeling weak and
having a headache for several days prior to his death. He was hospitalized
briefly on November 14 and 15, 2008, due to fevers and exhaustion. After being
released, he returned home and continued to decline. He died at home on Monday,
October 22, 2008.
